Liberty UK is a pop-up festival that explores the themes of freedom and democracy, produced by ArtReach. Liberty UK (previously known as Night of Festivals) builds on a 10-year history of popping up in various towns and cities across the UK, and this summer’s edition will be taking place in Leicester.

On Thursday, June 3rd  at 7:30 pm, there will be a free online artist talk led by filmmaker, raconteur and manufacturer of dangerous toys, Richard Dedomenici, as part of the Liberty UK Festival. Richard Dedomenici makes work that is social, joyful and political and is known for inventing the Carry-OK wearable karaoke system, office chair sport The Swivelympics, and the crocheted crypto-currency Knitcoin, among much other fun and exciting inventions.

In 2017, Richard Dedomenici launched an installation called Shed Your Fears. This exhibit took the form of a wooden shed with two cubicles where people could anonymously, safely and privately sit and share their fears, hopes and dreams with a stranger. This summer, Richard is leading an online illustrated talk about Shed Your Fears and about how you can anonymously share your contributions in two new socially distanced variants of the project, one online and one physical.
