Summer at Manchester Craft & Design Centre

Visit website

This Summer don’t miss a chance to visit the original Northern Quarter home of independent creativity, Manchester Craft and Design Centre. This LGBTQ+ Pride month, the Centre is proud to be celebrating the fact it’s been home to diverse makers and has been a welcoming place for all visitors regardless of background or sexual orientation since 1982. A popular destination for same-sex couples for wedding rings, gifts and favours, as well a fantastic array of handmade work in glass, jewellery, ceramics and more that can be found in proud rainbow designs that will make your Pride even more special.

Make a trip to one of their many studio shops where you can meet the designer/makers behind the gifts and support true independent businesses and craft. Take some time out to reflect on the 200-year anniversary of Peterloo with their topical and poignant exhibition of ceramics that tell the stories of those who fought and died, Misshaping Peterloo. Then why not treat yourself while being good to your body with delicious fresh salads and homemade tortilla from Oak St Café - and then balance it out with a famously generous portion of cake to finish of your visit, too!
