Survey II

14 October 2021 to 11 December 2021Visit website

Established by Jerwood Arts in 2018, Survey II is the second edition of a group exhibition that presents new work from some of the most outstanding artists in the first stages of their careers in the UK. This major exhibition will open at Jerwood Space on 1 October, showcasing new commissions by ten of the most exciting early-career artists from across the UK. Exhibiting artists are Saelia Aparicio, Tereza Červeňová, Sadé Mica, Rebecca Moss, Cinzia Mutigli, Katarzyna Perlak, Shenece Oretha, Tako Taal, Nicolaas van de Lande and Angharad Williams.

The exhibition explores a wide range of subjects, but at its core is a common preoccupation with how we relate to each other and the world around us. Artists consider the balance of control between humans and nature, the representation of queer and marginalised bodies, and the possibility of transformation for both materials and beings. The exhibition will present new sculptural, photographic, textile, moving-image, sound and assemblage pieces across the galleries, curated by Harriet Cooper, Head of Visual Arts.

Harriet Cooper, Head of Visual Arts, Jerwood Arts said, “Survey II brings together some of the most compelling early-career artists working in the UK today and we are thrilled to present this exhibition in London, to coincide with Frieze for the Autumn art season. The exhibition is a must see for everyone planning their exhibition diary as it gives a vital napshot of the work early career artists are creating at this present moment and the issues that they are responding to around them. I’m excited to bring Survey II to Jerwood Space and welcome our audiences to engage with these works and ideas, and create new conversations through a brand new events programme which will coincide with the exhibition.”
