London’s award-winning unique family festival returns featuring the incredible Natalie Williams’ Soul Family!
This summer, the award-winning Thamesmead Festival returns to the banks of Southmere Lake, celebrating the vibrant creativity that defines this distinctive South East London community. Spanning four performance stages where festivalgoers can enjoy a diverse and eclectic lineup spanning soul, jazz, gospel, rap, rock, pop, punk, spoken word, comedy, street dance, and much more. This year, the main Park Stage is headlined by the powerhouse 10-piece collective Natalie Williams & the Soul Family Band, whose charismatic stage presence and infectious fusion of soul, jazz and R&B promise an unforgettable party atmosphere.
The Thamesmead Festival boasts two ‘firsts’ for 2026. Thamesmead’s Got Talent sees Natalie Williams invite aspiring vocalists to join the Soul Family on stage offering a rare opportunity for emerging singers, while the groundbreaking Slug Stage is an immersive, playful sci-fi escape inviting people with learning disabilities and autism into a surreal alternative reality where giant space slugs have taken over Thamesmead!
Thamesmead Festival is a FREE family-friendly event that is fully accessible to everyone. Alongside the exciting programme of live music, visitors can enjoy a dedicated Kids' Playzone, a Free To Be Sensory Zone, and a wide range of activities and workshops, from percussion and flag-making to Chinese calligraphy. A bustling market showcases local artists, artisans and food vendors taking visitors on a global culinary journey.
Commissioned and funded by not-for-profit housing association Peabody, and programmed by the resident-led Festival Advisory Board with support from international event producers Serious and Arts Council England, this annual free event showcases the inclusive, community-powered spirit that has made this diverse South London town a cultural hot spot in recent years.
