The Big Dream

22 February 2022 Old Royal Naval College

“Imagine it’s 2030. What do you see in your dreams?”

Inspired by the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, The Big Dream is a global art installation by 50 artists that will capture tens of thousands of dreams for the future from around the world. The Big Dream, one of the world’s largest ever crowdsourced artworks, will be unveiled simultaneously at 20 iconic locations around the world on 22 nd February 2022, and the Old Royal Naval College will be the only location in the UK to host this epic and moving work.

500 images will turn the dreams into one collective digital artwork that will be projected onto 20 famous buildings, museums and heritage sites across the globe, including Times Square (New York), Shibuya Crossing (Tokyo), Mount Kilimanjaro (Tanzania), and the UK’s very own landmark, the Old Royal Naval College, as seen as part of London’s New Year’s Eve celebrations. The Big Dream will then travel off-world to the International Space Station as part of the Rakia Mission. The final digital artwork will focus on the environment, social issues and culture.

This incredible outdoor projection will be free for all to see in the grounds of the Old Royal Naval College from sunset on Tuesday 22nd February 2022 and visitors can enjoy this iconic site’s magnificent Christopher Wren-designed buildings and gorgeous riverside grounds as well.
