Tchaikovsky's Pathétique

The big hitter in this concert is Tchaikovsky’s passionate ‘Pathétique’ Symphony, widely regarded as the composer’s greatest achievement.

ABBA Symphonica

Saturday 1 October, 7.30pm
From Waterloo to Voyage, this is an all-killer-no-filler concert of ABBA’s hits with four fantastic vocalists, accompanied by the entire Hallé Orchestra.

A Hero’s Life

Thursday 6 October, 7.30pm
Sir Mark Elder conducts Richard Strauss' Ein Heldenleben (A Hero's Life), a beloved orchestral party-piece full of humour and virtuosity. 

Mendelssohn’s ‘Italian’ Symphony

Sunday 16 October, 4pm

Mendelssohn’s Fourth Symphony is saturated with the sunshine and warmth of Italy. Composed for his sister, he commented that it would be ‘the jolliest piece I have ever done’.

E.T. The Extra Terrestrial In Concert

Relive the magic of E.T. The Extra Terrestrial on the big screen, accompanied by the Hallé performing John Williams’ magical score. 

Verdi’s Requiem

The full force of the Hallé, Hallé Choir and a stellar line up of soloists join Sir Mark Elder in Verdi's Requiem. Experience the spine-chilling 'Dies irae', the limpid beauty of the 'Lacrimosa', and the thrilling double-fugue of the 'Sanctus' in this exhilarating and much-loved masterpiece.
