24 July 2021 to 31 May 2021Visit website

A festival where words come alive… The Roundhouse will be reopening its doors for seven days of electric performance with this year’s The Last Word Festival. This incredible line-up includes some of the boldest stories told by some of the capital’s most vital voices. The highly anticipated Roundhouse Poetry Slam Final (29th July) will be celebrating its 15th anniversary with best-selling author Candice Carty-Williams joining the judging panel whilst a host of trailblazing and talented spoken word artists compete for the title of Slam Champion.

The acclaimed Letters Live will make their comeback on the 28th of July. Letters Live Is a celebration of the power of literacy correspondence, with each show featuring an array of fantastic performers reading letters written over the centuries and from all over the globe. And if that isn’t enough, award-winning poet and playwright Inua Ellams will be presenting Search Party on the 31st of July. Known for his ‘mixing the old with the new’, he will be performing a one-off, spontaneous poetry set that you do not want to miss!

These are merely a handful of the many outstanding artists set to perform at the Last Word Festival. If you can’t make it to Camden, there is still plenty for you to enjoy at home, including the Roundhouse Poetry Slam Heats from the 6th to the 8th of July, taking place on zoom. Roundhouse is located on Chalk Farm Road, London, NW1 8EH. Tickets are available for just £5 from the Roundhouse box office and the Roundhouse website. All Covid-safety measures are in place and ready for this incredible week to commence!
