The Verdun Allen Music Foundation (established in 2016) offers short courses to the general public on famous composers and periods of musical history. At present, and for the foreseeable future, all of our lectures are delivered online via Zoom on Tuesday afternoons from 2-4pm. Each session consists of an illustrated talk with musical examples (the first hour), followed by an opportunity to meet other people from different parts of the country in small discussion groups, and a final half hour of music.

The lectures regularly attract 40 to 50 people and are always recorded for you to watch at your leisure in case you can’t attend a session. During the summer lockdown the organisation raised £3000 for the Homeless charity Mustard Tree (https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/steven-robinson26) and some of our lectures in 2021 will be fundraisers to support young musicians who have struggled during the pandemic.
