Manchester is currently building The Factory, a major new cultural space where the art of the future will be made – and for its Virtual Factory series, Manchester International Festival has invited some of the world’s most exciting artists to create free online artworks that imagine the shape of things to come in its future home. 
 
Your Progress Will Be Saved is an online experience created by avatar artist LaTurbo Avedon that reimagines The Factory as a space within Fortnite – and this Virtual Factory commission has already been visited by more than 1.5 million people. Dive deep and you may find solace if you stay within this alluring world – but your progress will be further rewarded if you find your way out… 
 
Explore Your Progress Will Be Saved for free via the Virtual Factory website – and at 3pm on 12 November, join a panel of artists, writers and video-game developers for Imagined Realities, a special free online discussion about games that aim to blur the real with the digital.
