WaterBear Announces Carl Cox Scholarship Award

WaterBear, The College of Music have announced a new 2021 scholarship award with one of the worlds best-know and best- loved DJs Carl Cox.  Carl Cox has been at the pinnacle of his career for almost three decades now and continues to inspire and innovate through music. Carl Cox is a pioneer of electronic dance music and has performed at numerous clubs and events worldwide, as well as serving as a monthly DJ for BBC Radio 1’s essential mix. He is well known for hosting a residency, Music is Revolution, every summer season at world renowned nightclub, Space Ibiza, from 2001 to 2016. He has received 20 awards for his music, including winning the Best International DJ Award 3 times, and The Best Techno DJ Award six times. 

WaterBear’s ethos is reflected in Carl’s career. Nurturing and inspiring innovation in the music industry is at the forefront of what WaterBear does. Carl Cox has always demonstrated a passion for giving to his art, combined with authenticity and a genuine love for music. 

Carl Cox says: “I’m really excited to support WaterBear - The College of Music in providing this scholarship award and contributing to someone’s career journey in music. Hopefully this will help the creative process and lead to some great new electronic music that we can all enjoy.”

The Carl Cox Scholarship Award is for one WaterBear student, who will receive equipment to the value of £15,000 in order to help support their music projects and career goals. The course eligible for the scholarship award is the new BA (Hons) Electronic Music and Business starting in September 2021, which can be studied on-site in Brighton, or online via distance learning from anywhere in the world.
