To our delights, more and more theatres have begun to reopen their doors post-lockdown under strict social distancing regulations designed to ensure the safety of both visitors and staff.

One such example is the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre who, after tentatively presenting a number of small indoor and outdoor events in recent weeks, will now be hosting the 31st Annual Guildford Book Festival from 4 -11 October 2020.

The festival presents a wonderful line-up of speakers that promises to inspire, inform and entertain. Opening on Sunday 4 October with the hugely popular television producer and presenter Richard Osman, who will be discussing his record-breaking Sunday Times Best Seller - 'The Thursday Murder Club'.

Festival-goers can also see the likes of Countdown's resident etymology expert Susie Dent, eminent environmentalist and broadcaster Johnathon Porritt and former MP-cum-panel show regular Gyles Brandreth, to name but a few.
