We all know that Brighton is no underdog when it comes to hospitality. With a restaurant for every 480 residents, there is a lot of competition for business.

We all know that Brighton is no underdog when it comes to hospitality. With a restaurant for every 480 residents, there is a lot of competition for business. Competition brings its challenges but overall, is great for punters and pushes quality up for all.

Let’s get to it…

1. Kokedama – Lewes

Kokedama’s special ambience

Across three locations, Kokedama’s parent company Roundhill are busy dreaming up the very best in plant based eating and drinking. Based in Lewes, Kokedama is open all day catering to well sourced breakfasts, boozy lunches and refined meals in the evenings. Excellent natural wines and novel botanically orientated cocktails will have you coming back for more.

2. Burnt Orange – Central Brighton

Burnt Orange

Opened in June 2021, Brighton’s new Burnt Orange establishment combines our favourite elements of bar culture and restaurant cuisine. With a menu by restauranteur Razak Helalat and thoroughly inspired by all things wood fired, smoked and orange (code for delicious). Even the music is punchy and tasteful, having been curated by the one and only Fatboy Slim.
