In The Stones

“Pilgrims know to start their journey stepping in time, but Ellen’s journey was of a different sort…” Widdershins”.. or anticlockwise around the church.”

This winter Troubadour Stageworks presents a new play that explores the world of folklore around us. Using music, local customs and strange stories the narrative slips seamlessly through time and brings to churches vibrant with local lore a new flash of inventive drama. In The Stones will be coming to London from Thursday 25th November.

Troubadour Stageworks is a young theatrical charity based in South West Wiltshire, and are coming to London at the end of their inaugural tour of Cornwall, produced by Carn to Cove. Their visit to Cornwall includes workshops in local schools and involvement of community artists to weave the key element of local participation into the central story. Having toured Shakespeare in the summer of 2021, and with this new play by Sophie Haxworth and Mingma Hughes strikes to the heart of the company ethos and we hope to continue its development and journey in the coming months.

"It really lifted my spirits - my heartfelt congratulations to you all.” - Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey, Paddington)

“Energetic, musical, passionate, comic.” - Fliss Chester (author)
