InsideOut Musician

At the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, violist Sophie Renshaw realised that musicians around her were in a state of crisis, with no paid work, no incentive or opportunities to keep playing, and no way to collaborate effectively with other musicians. She decided to take action to beat the pandemic blues and build on the trend towards musical fusion and collaboration she witnessed around her, drawing together a team of four like-minded and extraordinary musicians, each of whom has carved out her own solo career as musician and inspirational teacher.
They began experimenting with innovative ways to collaborate, teach and share performances online. These experiences became the bedrock of InsideOut Musician (IOM), a brand-new online community committed to fostering musical connection and creativity.
Online music courses
Launched via a website offering courses, resources and an online performance space, InsideOut Musician is committed to encouraging and supporting musicians to grow their own unique voice, to connect with each other and with their audiences in new ways. Above all it’s a friendly space where musicians meet and perform together and in the monthly ‘InsideOut Ceilidh’.
InsideOut Musician welcomes players of all levels, embraces a diversity of music, people and cultures and actively encourages creative collaborations across genres.
How much does it cost?
IOM sessions and courses start from £10 for a ‘slow string’ drop in session, rising to £300 for a course of one-to-one instrumental tuition sessions. Courses include Preparing Orchestral Excerpts, Ways into Improvising and a Voice and Interplay course. Details on the website
