Kew is a great place to whisk the family away to for a day on any day of the summer break but the science festival means more fun educational activities than you can shake a stick at, with workshops, hands-on experiments, shows and behind-the-scenes tours that will captivate children and adults alike. See cryogenic science in action in the ‘Cryo Corner’ or discover the wonderful world of mushrooms on the ‘Fungi Quest’ trail.

The Falcon’s Malteser at the Vaults
If there are any young Anthony Horowitz fans in your crew, this play adapted from his novel of the same name is sure to be a hit. Tim is the world’s worst private investigator, so can the help of his clever younger brother Nick be enough to crack their toughest case yet? A solitary box of Maltesers is delivered by a miniature Mexican, but what’s so special about these chocolates that half of London's criminal underworld are willing to kill for them? Expect slapstick, comedy songs, a cast for four playing dozens of characters and a fully-realised car chase on stage.
