Chillingly Cool Halloween Parties in London 2019

1 October 2019 | Billie Manning

Halloween is creeping closer and it's time for everyone to get their Thriller on and boooOOOoogie on down. This year’s spine-tingling nights out include eerie immersive theatre, blood-curdling costume parades and even spooky speakeasies.

Have a chilling time at Skylight's Halloween on Ice
Fancy celebrating the spooky night itself at a rooftop ice rink? Skylight's winter set-up of ice skating and cosy igloos is now a wintry London staple, and they're launching it on Halloween this year with a big celebration including two ghoulish ice performances from professional ice dancers and a DJ all night long. For the big kid in you, there'll also be trick-or-treat opportunities where you can stuff yourself with free sweets, as well as a prize for best costume.

31 October, Tobacco Dock

Get creepy at The Glory's Halloween Ball
East London's best-loved queer superpub always puts on a good bash, whether that be celebrating St Paddy's Day or, well, a Thursday night, so expect big things from their Halloween spooktacular at Hackney Empire. Jonny Woo will be bringing back the much-loved Gay Bingo for one night only, and you'll be getting only the best of the best when it comes to the drag ball and cabaret stars, from Myra Dubois to Sooz Kempner. The seats in the stalls will be removed for the night, to ensure enough room for a big old BOOgie.

26 October, Hackney Central

Go wild at the Vaults' Halloween Raveyard
The Vaults are famous for their fun immersive events and if their pub Vaulty Towers is anything to go by, this is sure to be as weird and wonderful as it gets. Crawl down to the Halloween Raveyard where the dead have been raised for the party of the year. There will be live bands to get you doing the Thriller dance, including Hackney Colliery Band, devilish DJs, bloodcurdling cabaret and more.

31 October, Waterloo

Sing your lungs out at the Rocky Horror Halloween Singalong
Do the Time Warp again at this excellent singalong screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the legendary Prince Charles cinema. The evening starts with a vocal warm up led by a coach - and you'll even get a free bag of props to wave around throughout the film! Then it's time to get on down with Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon and Meatloaf. Fancy dress not obligatory - but highly recommended.

31 October, plus further dates across the year, Leicester Square

Do Halloween Gatsby style with the Candlelight Club’s Halloween Ball
If you fancy being borne back to an undead version of the 1920s, head to a long-forgotten ballroom in east London for a fearsome flappers’ knees-up. Along with a live swing band and Charleston dancers, drinkers will be serenaded by the Creep Quartet, a string quartet playing classic horror movie themes. As the night wears on and things get darker, music will be followed by two variety shows hosted by musical Weimar androgyne Victor Victoria, with burlesque, hooping, and uncanny magic. Meanwhile, foreboding fortunetellers will be on hand to predict your terrible future… and if you’re really feeling like this might be your last party on Earth, splash out on a three-course meal - with champagne, of course.
