With lockdown measures beginning to relax, we’re able to taste a slice of normality once again. After months of being confined to our homes and limited to seeing only those in our household bubbles, it feels daunting to be allowed back into our social lives. With social distancing measures still in place, some of our favourite pastimes feel quite impossible. This is not the case for film lovers! This Summer there’s a huge range of outdoor film screenings to look out for across the country. Here are our top 5 which can be enjoyed safely with family and friends.

Old Royal Naval College Outdoor Cinema

The UNESCO World Heritage Site in Greenwich hosts The Luna Cinema open-air event from 4 - 9 August. On these dates, audiences can enjoy iconic blockbusters such as Judy, Rocketman, Dirty Dancing, Joker, Grease and Back to the Future. Aside from the great film lineup, moviegoers can also marvel at the stunning architecture of this renowned London landmark.

The Old Royal Naval College's COVID safety measures have seen them receive the Visit Britain "Good To Go" accreditation, meaning visitors can be assured that government guidelines are being followed.

Tickets cost £37.00 for a Seated Pitch for two and £74.00 for a Seated Pitch for four. If you are coming in a group with more than four people you can book two pitches, but will not be guaranteed to be adjacent.  Click here for more information.

The surf publication, Wavelength, will be taking over the site and will be screening a selection of surf and action-packed movies. Having worked closely with the Cornish Council, the Wavelength team can ensure the site will be COVID-safe. There will be on-site options and entertainment such as street food, live music, a tombola raffle and a bar, all taking place socially distanced.

Tickets are available till 6th September, starting at £25 for a car and one passenger plus £5 for every extra passenger. Find out more here.
