Edinburgh International Book Festival
When people say “The Edinburgh Festival” you should really ask them “which Edinburgh Festival…?” This city has so many – and the Edinburgh International Book Festival is a biggie! It makes sense really, when you consider the literature legacies that link to the Scottish capital, from Sherlock Holmes to Harry Potter.

The festival takes place10-26 August 2019

Isle of Wight Literary Festival
Some people take a book on holiday… some people make books their holiday. Held at some spectacular venues on the beautiful Isle of Wight, including Northwood House and the Royal Yacht Squadron, this Festival is a real treat in so many ways. For non-islanders, worth noting too that Red Funnel Ferries offer a discount to festival-goers
