Torchlit Summer Evenings at the Roman Baths, Bath

The Roman Baths will stay open until 10pm every evening this summer, offering visitors a chance to enjoy the special atmosphere around the torchlit Great Bath. Torchlit Summer Evenings will run from 23 July to 31 August, with last admission at 9pm.

There will be a pop-up bar beside the Great Bath selling champagne, prosecco, soft drinks and ice cream. The Roman Baths museum will stay open late so that visitors can look around the fascinating displays about life in Roman Bath, long after the usual closing time.

Councillor Dine Romero, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, Communities and Culture, said: “There is a magical atmosphere around the Great Bath as the sun begins to set and the torches are lit. We’re delighted to be able to open late and invite visitors to enjoy this special experience. Admission is free for local residents, and I hope that many local people will come along and soak up the fantastic atmosphere.”

There’s also an opportunity to have dinner in the magnificent Pump Room during your visit.

from 17 July to 30 August. There’s a two or three-course seasonal menu on offer, accompanied by live music from the resident pianist. Bookings can be made here
