Where to Eat: Best New Brunches in London

8 June 2019 | London Calling

We're overloaded by brunches across the capital, and we all know about the classics. If you need some variety in your brunch repertoire, here are the best new brunches that have opened in London over the past few months. Breakfast Club, schmeakfast club.

Skylight Rooftop, Tobacco Dock
We already love Skylight for their seasonal fun, from their igloos and mulled wine in the winter to giant lawn games and cocktails in the summer, and now they've launched a new weekend brunch menu. Now the sun is finally showing its face, get down to one of their sun-filled garen booths to indulge in their offerings from Greek Street foodies Yiro and burger-lovers Flipside. Alongside your brunch pitta or breakfast burger, you can nab half-price Bloody Marys and Prosecco.

Monsieur Le Duck, Clerkenwell
You've had le dîner, now enjoy le brunch! Monsieur Le Duck's new brunch menu is très français indeed, and of course focuses on the restaurant's favourite thing - duck! From boiled duck eggs with soldiers and confit duck hash to classic French pastries, you'll find your new favourite dish. It isn't only available on the weekend, either, so if you're hankering after a poached duck egg of a Wednesday morn, you know where to go.

Head + Tails, West Hampstead
Head + Tails is the next bar on our list that has recently launched a brunch to delight the locals. Unusually, the brunch menu is small-plates focused, with a couple of cheap but delicious basic dishes, like the charcoal sourdough with scrambled eggs, which you can add plenty of extras on to, from sausages to avocado. The bar also boasts a sun-trap garden; with leafy walls, cushion-topped seating and a hidden feel, this secluded outdoor space will be the perfect place to sip spritzes over brunch this summer. Check out our full review of Heads + Tails' brunch here!

BOTTLES, Spitalfields
Combining Italian warmth with London edge in Spitalfields market, the 2-story wine bar is a relaxed and buzzy space wholly dedicated to the enjoyment of food and wine, making it the perfect weekend destination for a prosecco-fuelled brunch spot. Dishes from the latest menu include purple sprouting broccoli, poached egg, kimchi and almonds on sourdough as well as more classic brunch staples such triple smoked gammon and poached eggs served on sourdough bread with lemon mayo. Yum!

Bobby Fitzpatrick, West Hampstead
Delightfully retro joint Bobby Fitzpatrick has just launched a seven dish bottomless brunch menu paired with cocktails and fresh juices. The new menu includes the quintessential retro dish of devilled eggs, as well as modern twists on classics, such as buttermilk chicken with horseradish and beetroot pickle and potato latkes. Bottomless cocktail options include the sumptuously sweet Coconut and Pineapple Mimosa, as well as the fun reworking of the classic tomato brunch tipple into the ‘Bloody Derek.’ Oo-er...
