There’s no better way to celebrate Hogmanay than in a Glasgow bar with a wee dram
Bon Accord

Whilst Glasgow certainly offers plenty of amazing places to drink whisky, Bon Accord has to be the most famous. This popular bar won The Good Pub Guide’s Whiskey Pub of the Year for both 2019 and 2020, so where better a place to welcome in the new decade with a whisky in hand? Despite being famous for its huge selection of (quality) whiskies, this bar actually began as a speciality real ale pub. They do, however, stock over 400 malt whiskies as well as blended malts, bourbons and whiskies from all over the world. In all, there are over 500 whiskies to choose from in this characterful bar.
If you’ve tried a wee dram and you simply can’t leave Scotland without it then be sure to buy a bottle to take home with you. You can check out Bon Accord’s online shop for an idea of what’s on sale (as well as deciding what to order when you get there). The pinnacle of their collection is a prized 70-year-old Glenlivet which will set you back a staggering £900 for 35ml - not a card charge you want to wake up to on New Year’s Morning!

What? A vibrant and versatile bar for families, sports fans and dogs!
Where? In the city’s West End, two minutes from Kelvingrove park.
Why? These guys boast over 70 bottles of whisky to taste and try, ideal for fans of the Scottish drink. It’s a fun bar with TV screens showing the biggest sports evenings, so we’ve no doubt it’ll have a bustling atmosphere for Hogmanay celebrations.
The Pot Still
154 Hope Street, Glasgow, G2 2TH
What? A family run ale and whisky bar with extremely popular homecooked pies.
Where? Just a 5-minute walk from Glasgow Central station.
Why? Staff behind the bar at The Pot Still are whisky experts, and with over 700 whiskies on offer you’ll no doubt need an expert to choose the best dram for you. Be sure to line your stomach with The Pot Still Pie and enjoy a selection of completely unique Scottish whiskies.
The Wee Bar at The Chip
12 Ashton Lane, Glasgow, G12 8SJ
What? One of Scotland’s smallest bars (probably) that’s part of the Ubiquitous Chip pub.
Where? Just down a little street off Byres Road.
Why? This extremely cosy pub only seats can only host about 25 people, making it the perfect choice for a bespoke evening of quality whisky.
