Thought-provoking talks and debates light up Brighton Dome this Autumn.

Brighton Dome launches a thought-provoking season featuring an exciting and diverse line-up of talks, debates and spoken word events across three historic venues. From trailblazing speakers to leading thinkers, the autumn programme invites audiences to be part of the conversations shaping our times.
Opening the season, James Dean Bradfield and Nicky Wire of iconic 90s rock band Manic Street Preachers join music journalist Keith Cameron (author of 168 Songs of Hatred & Failure) for a conversation followed by a book signing in Brighton Dome Corn Exchange.
Celebrated actor Miriam Margolyes brings her acclaimed show From A to Z to the Concert Hall stage. Using an A-Z wheel, Margolyes explores an eclectic, alphabetised mix of life’s standout moments with her trademark humour, honesty and unpredictability. This performance will be BSL interpreted.
Booker Prize-winner, political essayist Arundhati Roy appears in conversation with writer and broadcaster Afua Hirsch, discussing her novels, essays and new memoir Mother Mary Comes to Me for an exclusive event. Later in September, former finance minister of Greece and economist Yanis Varoufakis is joined by comedian Rosie Holt for a deep dive into how the great forces of history shape us – covering Greece’s twentieth-century history through to his own personal life and political awakening.
Other season highlights include biologist and bestselling author Merlin Sheldrake's The Secret Life of Fungi LIVE, an immersive, mind-expanding journey into the hidden and spectacular life of fungi.
Turner Prize-winning artist Grayson Perry returns with Are You Good? an entertaining and interactive evening – where core values come out in tatters.
TikTok and musical theatre star Hannah Lowther, known for her supermarket dancing videos during the pandemic, presents How Very Hannah – LIVE! at the Corn Exchange.
In partnership with the University of Sussex, Professor Liz David-Barret will host an interactive debate asking: Is The UK a Corrupt State?
The season also showcases the return of Status Flo, the regular spoken word night and The Studio Theatre series welcomes special guests BIG SCOOP in October and award-winning author, poet and broadcaster Salena Godden in November.
