Highlights this month include:

Women of the RNLI: 2 March 2024 – 1 December 2024

An exhibition celebrating the vital role that women have played in saving lives at sea. Featuring a series of Jack Lowe photographs taken from Lowe’s ongoing Lifeboat Station Project, an attempt to photograph every RNLI station and members of its crew.

Feeling Blue: Daily, Queen’s House

A major new tapestry commission is on display in the Queen’s House. Scottish-Barbadian artist Alberta Whittle’s ‘Feeling Blue’ (2023) is collaborative piece woven in Edinburgh by Dovecot Studios and filled with richly evocative textures, symbolic shapes, and tropical colours.

Democratising Architecture: 11 June 2024, Queen’s House

A panel discussion on ownership and architecture at the Queens House for London Festival of Architecture exploring a vision for a democratic architecture that combines frivolity and function. The discussion interrogates who and what architecture is for.

Refugee Week:  16 – 23 June 2024, National Maritime Museum and Queen’s House

A celebration of the culture and heritage of communities that have migrated to London.

Windrush Day:  22 June 2024, National Maritime Museum, Queen’s House

Royal Museums Greenwich’s annual day-long celebration of Windrush Day is back, including talks, performances, music, food and workshops for all.

FAMILIES AND YOUNG PEOPLE: Half-term; 26 May – 2 June 2024

The National Maritime Museum will have daily make-and-do workshops for families during the school break. These workshops will focus on engineering and will encourage families to engage through creative experimentation with engineering concepts linked to RMG’s collections.

Discover Sundays during term-time

Each week a different artist will take visiting families on a journey into the Museum’s collection.

Character Encounters:  

Every Saturday Encounter different characters who will take you on a special tour and bring the stories in the Museum to life before your eyes.

PRINCE PHILIP MARITIME COLLECTIONS CENTRE

Behind the Scenes Tour 13, 27 June 2024

Participants will come face to face with the conservation team and learn first-hand about the objects' voyage from store to display.

Saturday Super Store Tours 1 June 2024

Gain an insight into the treasures of RMG’s collection with a tour of the stores at the Prince Philip Maritime Collections Centre.
