Evening with the Moon: 15 June 2024

Join the Royal Observatory astronomers for an evening of moon-themed family fun, starting with a planetarium show and ending with an opportunity to see the moon through one of the Observatory’s modern telescopes.

REGULAR PLANETARIUM SHOWS

Peter Harrison Planetarium

The Peter Harrison Planetarium, featuring state-of-the-art technology, is the only public planetarium in London and is the centrepiece of the Royal Observatory’s Astronomy Centre.

Astronomy and Islam: Hajj Special: 1 June 2024

This show looks at how traditional Muslim navigators used the stars to help them find their way at sea and how it helped them travel for the annual Hajj pilgrimage, and also locate the direction for prayer in Islam. 

Chinese Astronomy:  22 June 2024

Join this live planetarium show to hear an astronomer from the Royal Observatory Greenwich explore topics in ancient and modern Chinese astronomy.

We Are Guardians: Daily

Looks at how ecosystems are intrinsically connected and with the increasing use of Satellite Monitoring, examines the links between human activities and climate change.

Ted’s Space Adventure: Weekends and school holidays

Aimed at younger audiences, exploring the Solar System with a bear named Ted.

A new display at the Peter Harrison Planetarium celebrates Earth’s outstanding natural beauty and creates a vibrant colour-scape centred around our planet through astrophotography, audio-visual and interactive elements.
