Playing host to Hendrix and the Stones, a haven for acid house parties. After lying dormant for years, Manchester’s iconic Century Hall is BACK!

Born in 1963, reborn in 2022, renamed as, simply, New Century, Manchester’s iconic Century Hall is now being relaunched as part of the development of the Noma district.  Extended to three floors the basement will house Access Creative College, offering degree-level qualifications in music and gaming, the already-opened ground floor features a bar and kitchen with a selection of street food vendors, and above will be the meticulously restored events space, The Hall. With its original sprung dance floor, its vintage wood wall panelling disco ceiling and state of the art sound system and stage production equipment, the hall is now hosting an eclectic variety of events curated by NowWave. On the ground floor of New Century is the 10,000 square-foot New Century Kitchen  home to six independent food traders all offering a vibrant menu of the best independent food from the most talented and exciting kitchens including:

Adam Reid with his brand-new concept ‘The Butty Shop’.  Guests can feast on old-school butty flavours like ham salad or cheese, and sides like potato salad and gherkins.

New Century will become home to the seventh Zumuku site and the first in the Manchester city centre, where diners can expect authentic, fresh sushi as well as other Japanese favourites such as katsu curries and noodle dishes.

Banh Vi will be bringing their unique, plant-based Asian food to New Century. Guests can enjoy classics like the Banh Mi OG with 24-hour tofu, mushroom pate, pickles, lettuce, cucumber, coriander mayo, hoisin, coriander, chilli and lime.

Classically trained chef Tom Lowe takes inspiration from the great steakhouses of the UK and Europe and his passion for well bred, native beef, Tallow will use only sustainably sourced, 28-day dry aged beef from local butchers. The beef dishes include the Tallow cheeseburger, a prime beef patty, smoked cheese, caramelised onions, peppercorn mayo, bun, and koffmann fries.

BaoBros23 are also bringing their beautiful bao buns to Manchester for the first time. As well as the bao buns, guests can enjoy dishes like chilli ginger fries and katsu curry halloumi, plus desserts with Asian inspirations and global ingredients.

Wild by Ply Northern Quarter favourites complete the core New Century line up with their elevated pizza concept, Wild Ply Pizza is Wild by flavour and Wild by nature Collaborating exclusively with Wildfarmed, chef Carl Fraenki-Retti has developed his recipe using their biodynamic flour to create a 24-hour slow proved dough, which forms the basis of a vibrant menu of pizzas with a range of seasonal toppings.

With live DJs, a small stage for live acts, and al fresco dining, there’s always something different to experience at New Century from morning to night. With communal dining areas, outdoor seating, private booths and tables, everyone can enjoy the space from families, small groups to your canine friends.
