November events

A full programme of events for child and adult visitors to Cutty Sark.

Highlights this month include:

  • Hear from the shipkeepers who conserve and care for Cutty Sark as maintaining the ship is no mean feat. Luckily, the dedicated shipkeeping team are committed to preserving Cutty Sark for future generations and visitors now have the opportunity to watch the experts in action - 8 November 2023, 11.00 – 15.00.
  • Listen to sea shanties and take part in creative workshops during the Family Fun Weekend, 4, 5 November 2023, 11.00 – 13.00 &14.00 – 16.00. Step aboard and set sail on a fantastic family adventure, meet characters from the ship's past and sing along with the resident sea shanty singers.
  • Scale the heights of the ship in the Rig Climb Experience, weekends and school holidays 10.30 – 17.00. For the first time since arriving in Greenwich in 1954, visitors to Cutty Sark can climb the famous masts and enjoy views of the Thames and London like no other. Visitors can travel up the ratlines to reach the Tops Platform where they take in the views while standing amidst the rigging of a true London icon, the experience ends with a controlled descent back down onto the deck.
  • Cutty Sark Characters, Friday–Monday during school holidays. Come aboard to hear Cutty Sark's incredible stories brought to life by characters from the ship’s past. Meet Captain Woodget, the ship’s most daring master, Jock Willis, the man who built Cutty Sark, Nannie, the ship’s figurehead, James Robson, the ship’s cook, or our new dockworker characters, who all have special stories to tell.
