
Cast announced for the tour of J.M. Barrie’s delicious, regency comedy Quality Street.
J.M. Barrie’s beloved romantic comedy Quality Street is heading on tour and will be in Richmond from Wednesday 12th April to Saturday 15th April, produced by Northern Broadsides and New Vic Theatre.This delicious farce is touring from March until July this year and is from the writer of Peter Pan. The popularity of J.M. Barrie’s romantic comedy was such a sensation in its day that it gave its name to the UK’s most loved chocolates: Quality Street™.
This sweet and sumptuous show was created with a team of retired workers at the Halifax Quality Street™ factory. A scrumptious Regency comedy following the spirited Phoebe Throssel who sets out to melt the heart of her old flame, Captain Valentine, through her alter-ego Miss Livvy. Quality Street is the perfect treat to unwrap this Spring.
The lead, Phoebe Throssel, this time will be played by Calderdale’s very own Paula Lane (Coronation Streets Kylie Platt). Two of the cast are returning from the original run: Alicia McKenzie as Mary Willoughby / Lotte and Louisa May Parker as Susan Throssel. They are joined by Jelani D’Aguilar as Fanny Willoughby / Isabella / Sandra, Alice Imelda as Charlotte Parratt / Jo, Aron Julius will be Captain Valentine Brown and Alex Moran as Ensign Blades / Arthur / Brenda. Jamie Smelt is Recruiting Sergeant / Georgy / Lieutenant Spicer and Gilly Tompkins completes the cast as Patty / Barbara.
