A musical gathering like no other!

A Celebration of music and place is at the heart of the Aldeburgh Festival and this year is no different as the 2023 Festival continues to offer music, art and film, both familiar and new.There is so much to enjoy across June – eight string quartets, six orchestras, five exhibitions, four ensembles, three films, two operas, a centenary celebration of the composer Ligeti, dance and much more.

Highlights:

Celestial Navigation - Saturday 10 June  7.30pm

Acclaimed pianist Pavel Kolesnikov plays a constellation of pieces by Messiaen, Chopin, and Couperin, as well as Thomas Adès’ Darknesse Visible and Schubert’s Four Impromptus, all enhanced by beautiful projections and lighting which will paint the Concert Hall as a stunning interplanetary scene.

A Line in the Sand - Tuesday 13 June  7.30pm

A song recital with a difference with pianist Allyson Devenish, soprano Nardus Williams, baritone Roderick Williams and poet Rommi Smith.

Bozzini Quartet: Just So - Friday 16 June  3pm

An inventive concert with pieces played by long-term collaborator Cassandra Miller as well as Howard Skempton and Benjamin Britten.

Ligeti's Etudes - Monday 19 June  7.30pm

Pierre-Laurent Aimard opens up a whole world of imagination as he performs Ligeti's virtuosic and dazzling solo piano Etudes.

Britten Sinfonia Three Concerti - Sunday 25 June  3pm

In the penultimate concert of the Aldeburgh Festival, join us for three contrasting piano concertos with Pavel Kolesnikov and the Britten Sinfonia.
