Summer Gardens at Blenheim Palace

Step into a season of sunshine and enjoy the beautiful Gardens and Parkland at Blenheim Palace.

From the Mediterranean Rockery to fresh swathes of wildflowers the Gardens at Blenheim Palace are alive with colour and activity this summer. Discover the Rose Garden, sun-drenched Mediterranean planting and a newly reopened historic temple, each offering a moment of quiet beauty. Whether you're here to wander, pause, or simply soak it all in, the Gardens are ready and waiting to welcome you.

A slice of the Mediterranean

  • The recently built Rockery in the Water Terraces features a stunning mix of flowering Mediterranean plants which evoke the sights, smells and the atmosphere of a Mediterranean hillside. Further rockery areas will follow over the coming months.

Restoration of the Rose Garden

  • Work continues on the long-term project of returning the Rose Garden to its original 1800s design. Later in the summer there’ll be a colourful display of dahlias. Roses planted in 2024 are growing well and starting to flower in some areas, with varieties including 'American Pillar, 'Blanc Double de Coubert' and more.

Step Inside The Garden Temples

  • The Temple of Flora, Temple of Health and Temple of Diana have are now all open for visitors. Explore the features of each temple and sit inside to take a moment’s rest and enjoy the view. Work begins this summer on a new flower garden for the Temple of Flora, a lost feature reinstated.

Wonderful Wildflowers

  • Look closely as you stroll through grasslands and you'll spot a stunning variety of wildflowers. From pyramid bee and spotted orchids to ox-eye daisies, vetches and helleborines, all are thriving thanks to careful grassland management. These delicate blooms are a quiet highlight of a summer visit to the Gardens.

Sunflowers, Pumpkins and Gourds

  • The Walled Garden is putting on a golden show this summer as the sunflowers come into bloom. Over in the Potager Garden, pumpkins and gourds have been planted and will be ready to harvest in October, well worth a return visit as the seasons change.

From Field to Fork

  • The Kitchen Garden is brimming with fresh vegetables and continuing to supply ingredients for the Cafés and Orangery Restaurant.
