Heartfelt coming of age story

Told via spoken word and featuring a host of characters, this epic, playful and heartfelt play is a call for change in the way society shapes young Black men.

David Alade’s captivating story transfers to Soho Theatre. Based on a true story, Sunny Side Up explores the relationship between a young man and his father. With sensational acting, poetic storytelling, and heartfelt moments, this poignant and passionate production is a must-see.

Sunny Side Up was first presented at the 2022 Peckham Fringe Festival for 4 sold out performances and returned for a 3-week run at Theatre Peckham in 2023. Peckham Fringe is a celebration of culture and a launch pad for creatives. It is the birth place of new, alternative and experimental performances that pushes boundaries and amplifies voices from all corners of society.
