The One Fest Exhibition will be displayed in the foyer of Old Diorama Arts Centre until mid-March, and visitors are welcome to enjoy this beautiful and unique exhibition anytime during our opening hours, and support more projects like this going forward.

All the artwork was created and curated at ODAC as part of the One Festival of Homeless Arts - by artists of No Fixed Abode/precariously sheltered/with lived experience of homelessness.

The festival took place during an incredibly cold period in January, and across the entire top floor of ODAC. The programme featured workshops exploring a wide range of disciplines; including wire sculpting, screenwriting, graffiti art, and mask making; as well as food, drink, and a safe creative space for over 200 artists and visitors throughout the festival.

One session - at One Fest for the whole first week - was ‘Rebuild’: a series of creative crafting workshops, exploring the meaning of home, homelessness, motherhood, and the notion of rebuilding lives. The Rebuild team opened up their space for women with experience of homelessness to design and create intricate doll’s houses, which will form part of the set for ‘Mother’s Day’ - a play exploring the themes discussed in the Rebuild sessions, which will be performed at Camden People’s Theatre on 23rd and 24th April. For now, the doll’s houses can be found on display as part of the One Fest Exhibition.

We hope that this year’s One Fest has helped to identify Old Diorama Arts Centre as a place that is safe, welcoming, and open to all during these challenging times.
