A charming new family musical by beloved poet Roger McGough

A new family musical based on Roger McGough’s poem The Sound Collector is performing in London this Spring. The show tells the story of blind musician Keith, whose favourite noises are stolen by the mysterious Sound Collector. The production will feature inventive sound design and foley techniques to give audience members of all ages an exciting sensory experience.

The Sound Collector musical is produced by the same company that created Roger McGough’s last show, Money-Go-Round, which received critical acclaim and a Best Children’s Show award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2023. Jam Jar Theatrical Productions – which is formed of writer Roger McGough, composer Steve Halliwell and director Jonny Danciger – are now bringing their award-winning artistry to this brand-new show.

Blind musician Keith loves his noisy life. His neighbour Topsy, a TikTok influencer, has different ideas. One day, a mysterious figure sneaks into Keith's house and steals his favourite sounds, even his snores! It's up to the audience to lend Keith an ear and help him catch the thief.

The audience will dive into a cosy sound bath of gorgeous gurgles and satisfying squeaks in this sensory production, featuring original music by Steve Halliwell of the band Little Machine.

"This charming and thoughtful production draws you in and takes you to a very happy place” Mini Travellers ★★★★★
