On a remote island, Prospero commands spirit Ariel to wreck a passing ship. Washed ashore, the ship’s passengers – and the island’s inhabitants – are soon caught up in a magical plot of love, revenge and forgiveness. Can everyone find the freedom they are searching for?
Experience the electrifying production of Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank: The Tempest, in the wonderful Globe Theatre, created especially for young people. Directed by Diane Page (Julius Caesar, Globe on Tour 2022), this is the return of Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank, the flagship project for secondary schools which offers over 26,000 free tickets are offered to pupils aged 11-16 at London and Birmingham state schools, with subsidised tickets for schools nationwide.
The cast includes Aoife Gaston and David Huntley, who both return to Playing Shakespeare after featuring in the 2022 production, Macbeth. Joining them are Azan Ahmed, Charlie Cameron, David Ijiti, Emma Manton, Lloyd McDonagh, Archie Rush, Bea Svistunenko and Zheng Xi Yong.
Alongside The Tempest, Shakespeare’s Globe is running numerous workshops for young people to further explore the play:
