“A poignant and thrilling portrait of the British rave scene” ★★★★ The Skinny
While Gary Clarke’s critically acclaimed COAL (2016) looked at one of the UK's most infamous political battles, the 1984/5 British Miners' Strike, WASTELAND looks at how two generations coped in the aftermath of radical upheaval. As one grinds to a halt, we follow the other into the 90s illegal rave scene, where derelict warehouses became home for a new-found community of music and dance.
Bringing together exceptional dancers, a heart-pounding rave soundtrack and artwork by Jimmy Cauty of The KLF, WASTELAND dives head first into a gritty story of loss, hope, escapism and survival.
The Place is offering one lucky winner a pair of tickets to the performance on a date of their choice (Wed 2 - Thu 10 Oct, no shows on Sun 6 & Mon 7 Oct). Enter below to win.
