"The best kids' magician in the world" MARIO THE MAKER MAGICIAN makes its Bristol debut this summer!
Fresh off a sold out Off-Broadway run and recently featured on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the hit family theatre show, Mario the Maker Magician, makes its Bristol debut at Bristol Old Vic for five shows only this July, celebrating the start of summer holidays. Following these Bristol performances, the show will go on to London (26 - 27 July, Underbelly Boulevard) and Edinburgh (Festival Fringe 30 July - 17 Aug).
Mario the Maker Magician is the brainchild of New York performer, maker, and creator Mario Marchese and his producer wife, Katie Rosa Marchese. They tour the show full time along with their two children, road-schooling along the way. Mario has been featured on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Sesame Street, Universal Kids, and live on tour with David Blaine, who calls him "the best kids’ magician in the world!!”
Mario the Maker Magician leads its audiences through a romping explosion of handmade robotic art and magic for all ages. The infectiously energetic Mario has been dubbed “magic’s punk rock Peter Pan philosopher,” as his show proclaims to young audiences to “do what you love, use what you have, and have fun.” It is a testament to Marchese’s personal journey through art, expression, and education. No one leaves the show empty-handed OR empty-hearted.
Talking about being in Bristol, Mario says "It is an honor and privilege to be able to bring my show, my life’s work, to such a historic venue in a city we’ve long heard such wonderful things about. It will be our first time in Bristol! There’s something entirely enchanting about visiting a place we’ve never been to before, connecting with new families and taking in all that a new place has to offer. We’re excited to bring our little robot magic world there, to the hometown of our amazing co-producer, and then carry home a bit of Bristol with us from there on out!”
