Queen of Poetry Allie Esiri to host a hugely entertaining, star-studded night of Shakespeare poetry readings.
Following a sell-out performance in 2024, Allie Esiri returns on Sunday 25th May with an exciting new star-studded cast for what promises to be another hugely entertaining evening of Shakespeare scenes and speeches based on her bestselling anthology: Shakespeare for Every Day of the Year.
Allie will be joined by a notable cast of award winning theatre and film actors including Damian Lewis (Homeland), Tony Robinson (Blackadder), Olivia Williams (The Crown), James Phoon (Bridgerton), Indira Varma (Game of Thrones, Mission Impossible), Hugh Ross (Outlander, Patriot Games), Kate Fleetwood (Harry Potter, Harlots), Danny Sapani (Killing Eve, Black Panther), Samantha Spiro (Sex Education), and Tracy-Ann Oberma.
Continuing the celebrations marking over 90 years of Shakespeare at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, Allie and friends will take you on a spellbinding adventure through the timeless works of Shakespeare, from the Shakespeare you love to the bits you don’t. There will be poetry, speeches and scenes read by actors who have a special connection to Shakespeare’s work and to the theatre itself. It was at Regent’s Park, for example, that homeland actor Damian Lewis spent a season playing Hamlet and where Samantha Spiro performed an acclaimed Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing and won an Olivier Award for Hello Dolly! It promises to be an amazing night of great performances that will illuminate the life, times and work of our greatest playwright.
